What is a Lhasapoo Puppy?

Picture a lively puppy embodying the dignified demeanour of a Tibetan temple guardian combined with the playful energy of a Poodle. This description encapsulates the Lhasapoo, a delightful blend of two beloved breeds that merges elegance and amusement into an irresistibly charming companion.

Temperament and Behavior

In temperament, Lhasapoos are often friendly and affectionate, though some may exhibit the cautious demeanour inherent to Lhasa Apsos, historically revered as guardians of temples. Generally weighing between 8 to 10 kilos and around 30cm in height, they comfortably fit into most households. While they excel as watchdogs, they can lean towards being vocal. Their quick-witted nature renders them highly trainable, showcasing their intelligence.

Family Companion

Lhasapoos excel as affectionate and playful companions for families. Their compact size and generally gentle disposition make them suitable playmates for children, though it’s important to teach both kids and puppies about respectful and safe interactions from an early stage. Early socialisation is key to establishing a positive relationship, emphasising gentle play and handling for young ones.

Social Adaptability

These adaptable dogs can also happily coexist with other pets in the household. Introducing them gradually and positively, especially with cats, is recommended, ideally starting when all animals are young. Their social nature makes them thrive in a pack environment, although their Lhasa Apso lineage may occasionally manifest as watchful behaviour. With proper training and socialisation, any initial wariness can be effectively managed.

How We Work

View Puppies & Enquire

View our current available puppies and enquire via the form or give us a call. If no puppies are currently available you can join our waiting list here.

Application

Once you have selected your puppy or are on the waiting list you will be required to send us your information. You will then need to place a holding deposit.

Prepare & Pick Up

We will keep you updated on when your puppy will be ready to meet and pick up so you can prepare your home and take your new puppy home.

About Us

Our aim is to provide happy and healthy pups with good breed standards, we have selected these three breeds because they are exceptional in temperament, family compatible and easy to maintain, with the added bonus of low shedding coats. The three different breeds also give you the choice of the size that would better suite your families or personal preferences. 

Rubyleigh Puppies are, wormed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and health checked before leaving for their new homes at 8 weeks of age, we work closely with our vet to ensure the puppies have the best of care before departure.
